- January 3 - The Terran Planetary Recovery Administration released another report on the status of Terra in a session of the Alliance of Planets High Council.
- January 8 - Andreas Tischler hoped to expand the Mesarthrim race's sphere of influence through diplomacy and trade. The Ixoarchada leader Drimont Mandara invited Tischler to a joint technology summit on Glengarr.
- January 9 - Andreas Tischler and Nathan Hinks were welcomed by the Ixoarchada government when they landed on Glengarr. The Ixoarchada and Mesarthrim Technology Summit Continues.

The fledgling relationship between the Ixoarchada and the Alliance of Planets was nearly destroyed when a combined United Mesarthrim Clans and Taviridis Somarchada operation was botched, resulting in the death of Uber General Tischler. Despite the tragedy, the culprits were found and peace was restored.

- February 1 - Auellal League declares autonomy from the United Mesarthrim Clans and claims the Cinaed System as its sovereign territory. All political prisoners on Caledon are released.
- February 3 - Mirach System colony project launches with refugees from Terra. Two cities are built on Mirach, dubbed simply "Colony One" and "Colony Two." Prefabricated structures allow several hundred thousand refugees to be housed safely.
- February 5 - The last remnant of the Royal Imperial Navy was found by the Taviridis Somarchada, and its location was revealed to the Alliance of Planets as a gesture of goodwill. The subsequent attack on the Imperial fleet truly ended the Second Exodus War, but marked the beginning of the Volucris Incursion.
- February 6 - Fleeing the Volucris Swarm, the Prefecture Second Fleet inadvertently led them to Mirach, where the first ground battle of the Volucris Incursion took place.
- February 12 - The first wave of Volucris was defeated by coalition forces with ease, but the second wave was so damaging that the Prefecture government began making plans to evacuate the two refugee colonies.
- February 18 - The evacuation of Mirach began under the watchful eye of coalition forces.
- February 19 - Cornered and outnumbered, General Travis Carpenter calls in a carpet bombardment of Mirach from the Prefecture Fourth Fleet, violating the Alliance of Planets Great Charter.
- February 23 - The United Mesarthrim Clans publicly admits the existence of the Auellal League rebellion and declares a state of emergency at home.

The Terran recovery effort was severely stalled when there was an outbreak of a particularly virulent plague in the North American regions. The entire planet was quarantined to prevent the spread of the virus.
Galactic stability was further threatened by two major events. The Mesarthrim government, reeling at the loss of their beloved leader, crumbled completely. The Volucris pushed their invasion further, by attacking the Prefecture world of Tavou.

The remains of the Empire, reorganized into the cult-like "Conclave", resurfaced in April. The elite Omega Squadron terrorist unit was revealed to be behind the Terran plague, and attempted to use it to drive a wedge between the Prefecture and the former United Mesarthrim Clans.

Relative peace was brought to the Mesarthrim sector when the Alliance of Planets Space Police quelled the minor rebellious factions. Only the United Centusi States and the Allied Auellal League remained. Unfortunately, peace talks between these two factions broke down when the presiding ambassador was assassinated--presumably by the Conclave.

Fortunately for the Mesarthrim, the failed peace talks did not destabilize the region. The Ixoarchada/Mesarthrim First Joint Defense Fleet was able to stabilize the region by its mere presence.
