The Alliance of Planets is an interstellar organization founded to allow Member States to work together on issues of international law enforcement, diplomatic issues, and forge new paths into the unknown depths of space.
The Alliance of Planets was founded in 2108 to organize the three known human races; the Meroniri, the Ikronin, and the Terrans into a single organization for First Contact with new civilization. The signing of the Alliance of Planets Great Charter formed the organization. Today there are four Member States, though recent events have hurt the Alliance of Planets' public image.
From its headquarters on Sepulare System, the Alliance of Planets runs several organizations, including the High Council, Space Police, and the Explorer Corps. The current President of the High Council is Naimen Ladosen, who has held the position since the founding of the Alliance.

[edit] Aims
The stated aims of the Alliance of Planets is to provide a body for interstellar diplomacy, interstellar law enforcement, and push back the boundaries of known space.
Past efforts to organize the Alliance into a mutual-defense mechanism have met a lot of resistance, and is part of the cause for the ill-will between many of the Member States today.

The Alliance of Planets was first conceived by the Meroniri after they realized that there would be many new civilizations returning to faster than light travel. First Contact with the Ikronin was quite a surprise. After making First Contact with the Terrans, the Meroniri proposed the Alliance of Planets as a way to present a friendly, unified face to any new contacts.
The Alliance of Planets Great Charter was written in 2107, and signed by the first three founding Member States in 2108.

The Alliance of Planets founding Member States were the Meroniri Terinasi, the Ikronin Jurekön, and the United Earth Alliance. After they were discovered and rescued by the Alliance, the Rikaz o Fii Huern iv Lorithan was admitted as a Member State.
During the Second Exodus War, the Empire wiped out the government of the United Earth Alliance. The United Mesarthrim Clans was granted membership during the war. When the war was over, the short-lived Titanian Planetary Alliance, which later assimilated into the Colonial Commonwealth, was admitted to the Alliance of Planets as a Member State.
After the Mesarthrim Civil War, the United Mesarthrim Clans was dissolved, and the United Centusi States were admitted as a Member State. During the Tempest War, the United Centusi States were expelled from the Alliance for attacking a fellow Member State.
[edit] Headquarters
The Alliance of Planets headquarters was built on a 100 acre park in the middle of Sepulare's Harale City. This location has become a major sticking point among the Member States, as Sepulare is so far removed from the majority of human space that most Member State representatives cannot make the trip in less than several months.
The Meroniri offer transportation aboard a Tesseract capable starship to all Member State representatives.

The Alliance of Planets has three key organizations within its structure: the Alliance of Planets High Council, the Alliance of Planets Space Police, and the Alliance of Planets Explorer Corps.
[edit] Alliance of Planets High Council
The High Council is a general assembly council, with one representative from each Member State. Traditionally, the executive head of state is sent to represent their nation, but substitutes have been sent before.
[edit] Alliance of Planets Space Police
The Space Police enforces international law, and provides assistance to local law enforcement in training and techniques. The Space Police occasionally serves warrants within national jurisdictions, but usually with the assistance of local law enforcement organizations.
[edit] Alliance of Planets Explorer Corps
The Explorer Corps was organized by the Alliance to chart and survey every star system they could. Corps missions are sponsored by an individual Member State. All Member States have the right to send representatives with the missions. If a valuable or inhabitable star system is discovered, claim rights can be disputed by other Member States if they desire, based on proximity to their home territory.
Most Corps missions are cooperative and no claims have been disputed. The Ikronin Jurekön and the Prefecture are known for their cooperative teamwork.

When an issue is considered particularly important, the High Council will frequently sponsor a conference on one world or another. Some meet regularly, while others were one time only.

- Restoration of Terra Planning Session, established in 2323.
- Xenobiology Threat Summit, met in 2324.
- Insurgency & Piracy in the Pelagrim Sector, met in 2325. Reconvened in 2326.
- Emergency Investigation into Mesarthrim aggression against the Federated Districts of the Prefecture, inconclusive findings 2327.
- Expulsion of United Centusi States from the Alliance of Planets 2327.
