A nation is any administrative body that controls any sizeable area of space. Typically, a nation controls at least one star-system, but most have several star systems under their flag.

Nations also refer to independent geographical regions on a single planet. By First Contact, most worlds have united under a single government. Their early pre-unification nations are listed in sub-categories of their own.

In the eons of the story of the Exodus Wars universe, many nations have risen and fallen. Some, like Pax Anthronoris are lost in the mists of time, with only rumors and devastated artifacts left to show their passing. Others, like the Meroniri Terinasi have endured in more or less the same form for thousands of years.
