Christopher Aaron Dayton, known most frequently as "Chris" Dayton, was a medical professional born and raised on Ah Kin. He had the unusual opportunity to learn the truth behind the existence of the Onyx Empire in 2300 and of the destruction of Torimur.
While this information meant little to him at the time, it became instrumental fifteen years later, when the Onyx Empire began the Second Exodus War. Dayton founded the first formal cell of the Resistance against the Empire, and eventually became the first Consul of the resulting Federated Districts of the Prefecture.

Dayton is one of the few original Torimur colonists to both survive the cold sleep of the First and Second Exodus, and to also stay out of the military. He worked as a civilian medic during the war, and played a role in the design of Dr. Hlow's biologically-engineered antivirus. He took great interest in the formation of the Prefecture government and began a campaign to get elected to Consul. Due to his popularity among former Imperial soldiers--the main majority of the people allowed to vote in the first election--and the lack of an opposing candidate, Dayton won easily.
When the Federated Districts of the Prefecture were formed as a formal government, Dayton won the first election for Consul in 2323. Chris Dayton was sworn into office on May 6th, 2323. He called the first meeting of the Prefecture Senate to order on May 12th, 2323.
Dayton was a hard worker, dedicated to his job of serving and protecting the rights of the people of the Prefecture. He worked hard to balance the military, police and infrastructure systems of the Prefecture without dipping deeply into the pockets of the citizens.
He was abducted by the Conclave in 2324, and was not freed until the Conclave surrendered to the Meroniri.
Dayton was considered a security risk due to the possible influence of the Infernal Machine, and was given his old post of chief medical officer for the Mobile Medical Corps, and Talaris Roi was elected to his old position of Consul.
