[edit] Early Life

Erika was born in the tiny village of Linda Noche, where she received her basic education. Erika was later accepted to the University of Rio de Andes, where she studied Electrical Engineering. After graduation, she took a job with the City of Rio de Andes Utillities Commission, and continued her education by studying Cosmology.

By 2281, Erika Strout had completed her first PhD, with a degree in Theoretical Physics with focus on gravity theory. Dr. Strout hoped to receive a job with the United Earth Alliance's Space Agency, but was turned down.

Instead, Dr. Strout continued her studies while pursuing a research career with the University of Rio de Andes. She eventually was put in charge of several advanced projects at the university, and received her PhD in Astrophysics.

[edit] Royal Imperial Laboratories

When the Onyx Empire took control of Ah Kin, Dr. Strout's name was discovered by the Alphas, and she was chosen to head the new Royal Physics Laboratory. She was directed to develop shield and hyperspace technologies, but began a pet project of her own: gravitics.

[edit] Project: Terminator

Under "Project: Terminator", Dr. Strout began developing the Relativistic Mass Driver. Her prototypes did not perform well, but she was able to produce the basic technologies for a magnetic version, which served as the main weapon for Royal Imperial Navy ships.

[edit] Imperial Civil War

During the Imperial Civil War, Dr. Strout was approached several times by the Prefecture and offered a position in the rebellion. She turned down every offer, until the Onyx Empire ended research on "Project: Terminator" due to needing to divert resources elsewhere. Chris Dayton offered to give Dr. Strout full funding and staff if she would defect.

Strout accepted the proposal, but her bunker in the Royal Imperial Labs complex was extremely well-defended. At Chris Dayton's request, Anthony Hadrian sent in a Hunter Team to extract her. Dr. Strout was removed from Ah Kin, and smuggled out on a freighter, which was intercepted by the FDS Avenger.

Dr. Strout was sent to Ueda, where she began working with Rahn Industries to expand the armaments available to new ships built for the Prefecture.

[edit] Tempest War

Despite her age, Dr. Strout continued to develop gravitics technology well into the Tempest War. Her developments were so successful that she was targetted for capture twice during the war, both times narrowly evading the Mesarthrim Myt'gaul sent to bring her in. After the second attempt, Dr. Strout relocated to a secure deep space research facility, where she remained until the end of the war.

After the war, Dr. Strout's research began to slow, as she was in her 80s. She went into semi-retirement, but still worked with Rahn Industries in an advisory capacity.
