The Ikronin are similar in appearance to the average Terran, but they've adapted to their climate enough to give them enough differences from stock Terrans to easily recognize them.
For one thing, the Ikronin internal body temperature--normal, highest, and lowest--is five degrees lower. Ikronin are comfortable in temperatures ten Celsius degrees lower than Terrans.
The average Ikronin height is 1.46 meters--4.8 feet. They are also stocky and naturally strong, but not unusually so compared to other humans.

Low levels of Vitamin B folate and high levels of Vitamin D in Ikronin food supplies led to increased levels of pheomelanin in their bodies, making Ikronin skin tones a rich reddish-brown, protecting their bodies’ Vitamin B supplies from sunlight.

Kronheim had extremely low amounts of copper naturally occurring in the ground and in the available food sources. This caused the Ikronin to develop copper deficiencies in their bodies. Their hair became stark white, and many developed anemia. Their bodies continued to adapt, until their marrow used other minerals in addition to copper to generate red blood cells, though their hair never regained its color. Ikronin have had white hair ever since, unless they dye it.

Their average lifespan ranges from 40 to 100 years, depending on whether they live on the tundra or the equatorial regions.
