James Davis is one of the founders of the Exodus Wars universe.

The whole story began in September of 1998, when James first discovered LDraw and began to add some of his real life "Blacktron" Lego creations. James was a part of an LCad mailing list (which later folded into Lugnet), where he met Scott Sanburn.

Scott had a website with a group he called "The Alliance of Planets," a brave group of defenders cut off from Earth, defending against the incursions of the Blacktron faction. It was a perfect match for semi-competitive modelling and storytelling.

A few days later, James created the "Blacktron Empire", and wrote a brief backstory of betrayal and exile, and a war of revenge against the Earth. James was heavily influenced by Homeworld and Starcraft, and it showed in his early work. Still, Scott liked the ideas, and the two authors began cross-referencing each other's work.

At first, what is now known as the Second Exodus was known as the "Great Return." Later, James renamed the Exile and the Return the First Exodus and the Second Exodus. Naturally, the term "First Exodus War" and "Second Exodus War" soon followed. The rest, as we say, is history.
