The Lorithos are a largely broken race of humans. They are smaller and more sickly than most humans, and many suffer from chronic degenerative genetic conditions.

[edit] Appearance

Lorithos average 1.67 meters in height, and 55kg in weight. Most are thin from a mutagenic inability to store certain sugars as fat. Some are but wiry and strong, but many are weak and sickly. A common Lorithos mutagenic trait is a tendency to have different colored eyes. The most common color is green in the right, brown in the left.

[edit] Skin Tone

Most Lorithos have two or three skin tones over their bodies, again the fault of genetic mutation.

[edit] Hair Color

Most Lorithos do not grow hair at all. Some grow facial hair, but the bodies of most Lorithos are incapable of growing hair folicles.

[edit] Metabolism

Some of the mutations suffered by the Lorithos helped them adapt to the harsh environment of their world. Their bodies are more efficient at extracting nutrients from foods that other humans would starve on, but as a result most Lorithos are physically incapable of growing fat, and must eat greater quantities of food.

The Lorithos internal body temperature--normal, highest, and lowest--is ten degrees higher than the body temperature of most humans.

[edit] Immune System

The polluted and irradiated climate of Lorithan has led to mutation and cancers which are painful and scarring. The Lorithos immune system can fight off cancers more efficiently than most humans. Tumors grow in most Lorithos on a regular basis, sometimes as often as once every two years. However, their immune system contains tumors more efficiently, making surgical removal simpler.

Lorithos have a radiation tolerance five times that of a Terran, Ikronin, or Meroniri, and twice that of an Ixoarchada.

[edit] Lifespan

The average Lorithos lifespan is only 60 years, dramatically reduced from what it was before the Burning Wars.
