Mareike Aloisia Koehler von Tischler (born July 18, 2295) is one of the more famous Mesarthrim field commanders to emerge from the bloody Second Exodus War. She earned the nickname "Bloody Mary" from her peers, and was famous for her foul mouth and irate temper in combat. During one particularly violent struggle, Mareike's tank was caught in a trap by Royal Imperial Army troops. Mareike escaped the tank alive, then led her crew in a daring strike to locate the Onyx Empire's local commander. She ended up butchering him alive, spattering herself and the walls in his blood and earning her nickname.
[edit] Early Life
Mareike Koehler was one of the few Mesarthrim born free during the centuries of slavery under the Anderung. By the time of her birth, the city of Brünshelm was a completely free safe zone, with no Anderung anywhere within striking distance.
The United Mesarthrim Clans completely swept Mesar of all Anderung presence by the time Mareike was 13 years old. Like most young Mesarthrim, Mareike idolized the warriors, particularly the Myt'gaul and the fearless Andreas Tischler.

Mareike was something of an oddity among the devout and traditional Mesarthrim. While women were allowed to do any job they pleased, it was still a common belief supported by the Mesarthrim State Church that a woman's role was to be a good wife at home.
Mareike was a devout follower of the Church, but refused to marry and received special dispensation from her local Reverend Father to pursue a career. Mareike was a "Machtenkopf", or "gear-head", and loved to tinker with machinery. She was apprenticed to a mechanic shop, and eventually became a master mechanic and bought out the shop.

After First Contact with the Onyx Empire in 2322, the United Mesarthrim Clans remobilized for war, and the call went out for a fresh generation of warriors. The then 27-year-old Mareike was determined to drive one of the legendary Vulture Siege Tanks.
Most of the Clans would not accept a female tank driver, but the Tischler Clan agreed to accept Mareike into their Myt'kampfen. She served on a Dolch crew during most of the early Second Exodus War.
