[edit] History of the Alliance Defense Force

The Alliance Defense Force was formed from a conglomeration of British, American, and Soviet military resources after World War III. It was unified into a single chain of command, and eventually absorbed the Space Agency when armed expeditions began to pacify certain colonies which did not wish to accept the Alliance's claim to their worlds.

Eventually, outdated branches like the surface navy and the marines were disbanded. Only the Air Force, Army, and Space Agency were still in effect at the time of the Second Exodus War.
