Terrans

[edit] Overview
Modern Terran culture is very different from what is was in the 21st century. Idealistic nonsense like Communism is universally hated and shunned, or met with outright violence. Pragmatism and optimism are the most common world-views.
Religion and faith are still very important to Terrans. There is a literal plethora to choose from, but all recognized Terran governments have made it quite clear that forced conversion will be met with lethal force. Most religions leave one another alone, and only proselytize people who are interested enough to ask.
Terrans are the mold that every other species is measured by. Despite the fact that Ikronin, Ixoarchada, and Meroniri have been star-traveling societies longer--only Lorithos have been in space for less time than Terrans--the Terran race has become the dominating influence of human society.
Biology and anatomy of Terrans are relatively the same as the Terrans of the 21st century. The average height is 1.8 meters--6 feet. Medical professionals have noted that the average height tends to vary over the centuries. The average lifespan is 90 years. Medicine and nutrition has improved, but not enough to make a "fountain of youth."
[edit] Social Structure
The Terrans as a whole have become much more aggressive. The average adult male will be involved in at least one serious fight every year or so, but rarely one involving use of lethal force.
The Terran race is the only recognized race not united under a single government. Terrans spread and colonize like weeds. They love exploration and discovery more than any of the other races, and are quick to adapt to their environment--or quick to adapt their environment to themselves. Terra is still their homeworld, but many become very attached to their colonies. Only the people of Mesar have been naturalized long enough to consider themselves different from other Terrans.
[edit] Language
The predominant, non-English Terran languages are German, French, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, and Portuguese. Other dialects are much more isolated and are rarely used.
[edit] Architecture
Because of the fractured nature of Terran society, there is no "Terran Architecture." It is extremely varied.
